York, PA – The York Revolution (27-22, 68-51) defeated the Somerset Patriots (28-21, 75-44) 6-5 in 13 innings Friday evening from Santander Stadium. In the bottom of the 13th inning first baseman Chad Tracy laced a RBI walk-off single to propel York to a series opening victory.
In the top of the first inning right fielder Ty Wright cranked a home run (10) to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.
The Patriots added three runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead. Wright and third baseman Corey Smith tallied RBI singles while first baseman Brian Barden hit a RBI fielder’s choice.
York cut the deficit in half in the home half of the fifth inning as center fielder Sean Smith smacked a two run home run (7) to make the contest 4-2.
Third baseman Bryant Nelson pounded a game tying two RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to even the score at 4-4.
In the top of the 10th inning designated hitter Jeff Dominguez roped a go ahead RBI triple as the Patriots grabbed a 5-4 lead.
Second baseman Omar Luna legged out a game tying RBI infield single in the ensuing half inning to tie game at 5-5.
Ian Durham (5-1) earned the win in relief. David Harden (1-5) suffered the loss in relief.
