Lancaster, PA – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (0-1, 85-56) battle the Lancaster Barnstormers (1-0, 82-59) in Game Two of the Liberty Division Series. First pitch is scheduled from Clipper Magazine Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. Lancaster leads the best-of-five set 1-0. Somerset went 11-9 against Lancaster in the regular season. The Patriots repeated as division title winners while the Stormers settled for the Wild Card slot.

Game One Recap

Somerset jumped out to a 1-0 lead but the Stormers scored three unanswered runs to win 3-1. The difference was a go ahead two run home run by Blake Gailen in the fourth inning.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Roy Merritt (1-1, 2.63 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Dan Osterbrock (11-4, 3.78 ERA) takes the hill for the Stormers. Merritt never faced Lancaster in the regular season. Osterbrock was 0-1 in give games, three starts with a 5.49 ERA against Somerset in regular season.

Chasing History

The Patriots are looking for their sixth title franchise history (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009). The Batnstormers are looking for their second title in franchise history (2006).
