Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (2-1, 87-56) battle the Lancaster Barnstormers (1-2, 82-61) in Game Four of the Liberty Division Series. First pitch is scheduled from TD Bank Ballpark at 7:05 p.m. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. The Patriots lead the best-of-five series 2-1. Somerset went 11-9 against Lancaster in the regular season. The Patriots repeated as division title winners while the Stormers settled for the Wild Card slot.

Game One Recap

Somerset jumped out to a 1-0 lead but the Stormers scored three unanswered runs to win 3-1. The difference was a go ahead two run home run by Blake Gailen in the fourth inning.

Game Two Recap

Somerset erased a three run deficit heading into the top of the seventh inning to win 5-4 in 11 innings. The difference was a go ahead RBI double in the 11th by Jake Fox.

Game Three Recap

Somerset received excellent starting pitching from Josh Lowey who hurled 6.2 innings while allowing one run on nine strikeouts. Jeff Dominguez’s solo homer stood to be the difference in the 2-1 victory.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Gary Moran (11-5, 4.06 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while southpaw Matt Packer (2-0, 1.92 ERA) takes the hill for the Stormers. Moran went 1-1 in four starts against Lancaster in the regular season with a 5.87 ERA. Moran is pitching on 10 days rest. Packer made one regular season start against Somerset and earned a no decision hurling 5.2 innings while allowing two earned runs.

In Gary Moran’s 24 starts in the regular season the Patriots went 18-6. Moran led the team in wins with 11. This is his first start since September 17th.

Chasing History

The Patriots are looking for their sixth title franchise history (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009). The Batnstormers are looking for their second title in franchise history (2006). This is the Patriots 11th postseason appearance. This is the Barnstormers 4th postseason appearance.

Ty Wright is 7-for-12 in the postseason with three RBI. He hit .369 against Lancaster in the regular season.
