Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (3-2, 89-50) battle the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (3-1, 69-71) in Game One of the Atlantic League Championship Best-of-Five Series. The Patriots repeated as Half Title Winners while the Blue Crabs won the First Half Freedom Division Title. The Patriots are searching for their sixth Atlantic League Championship while the Blue Crabs are looking for their first. This is a rematch of the 2009 Atlantic League Championship Series where the Patriots won 3-1.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Mickey Storey (12-3, 2.53 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Daryl Thompson (7-7, 3.86 ERA) will toss for Southern Maryland. Storey started Game Two in the first round series and earned a no decision going 7.1 innings while allowing four runs. Thompson started Game One in the first round series and hurled one of the best performances in Atlantic League history. Complete game two hit shutout on 140 pitches striking out 11 walking none.
