Bridgeport, CT – Today the Somerset Patriots (36-27, 74-59) visit the Bridgeport Bluefish (32-31, 62-71) for the first game of a three game midweek series. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. Specifically, there is a split admission day-night doubleheader. Game one will be seven innings. That’s at 10:35 a.m. from Harbor Yard. Game two will be nine innings. Playoff Picture

The Patriots can clinch the Second Half Liberty Division Title as early as this evening. They must sweep the doubleheader against the Bluefish AND have New Britain lose to Southern Maryland. The Patriots Magic Number over Bridgeport is 4 and Magic Number over New Britain is 3.

Lefty Efrain Nieves (3-0, 1.33 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while right hander David Kubiak (7-4, 3.42 ERA) will toss for Bridgeport

Righty Alexis Candelario (2-1, 5.68 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow right hander Jonathan Albaldejo (13-6, 4.22 ERA) will toss for Bridgeport

David Vidal is tied for the Atlantic League lead in home runs with 24. That’s also a career-high. He has three multi-homer games this year. He had 12 homers all of last year. He has 10 go ahead home runs this year.
