PLATINUM ANNIVERSARY: 2017 is Somerset’s 20th season as a franchise, an achievement that will be celebrated all season long. The Patriots are looking to win their 7th Atlantic League Championship in 20 seasons.

MAJOR EXPERIENCE: This year’s version of the Somerset Patriots features a whopping 11 players who have spent time on an MLB roster, as well as nine additional players who have service at the Triple-A level.

CONGRATS ARE IN ORDER: On Saturday, April 29th, left-handed pitcher Jeremy Bleich’s contract was purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He is reporting directly to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He is the first Somerset Patriot to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization this year.

CARDIAC PATS: Through the first nine games of the season, Somerset has gone to extra innings three times, winning all three games with a walk-off. The Patriots had 11 walk-off wins in the regular season last year, and one additional walk-off win in the postseason (Game 1, LDCS vs. Long Island).

START HOT, STAY HOT: The Somerset Patriots started the season on a six-game winning streak, sweeping the Lancaster Barnstormers and taking the first two games against the Long Island Ducks. The team-record for most consecutive wins to start a season remains 13, set in 2016.

SPEED 4 DAYZ: The Somerset Patriots rank tied for third in the Atlantic League in stolen bases (12), including six steals in a single game on 4/22 vs. Lancaster. Darren Ford leads the team with four steals and Tyler Bortnick ranks second with three.

TICKLE ME OLMO: Utilityman Olmo Rosario hit safely in seven of his first eight games as a Somerset Patriot, including three multi-hit games. The former Barnstormer is 11-31 to begin the year and has made starts in the field at 3B, LF and RF.

EGGY GETTING IT DONE: 5th year Patriots outfielder Aharon Eggleston currently ranks fourth in the Atlantic League in hitting (.409). Last year, “Eggy” finished seventh in the league in batting with a .290 average.

BACK AT THE HELM: The Somerset Patriots’ entire coaching staff remains intact from last season. Manager Brett Jodie enters his 5th season as Somerset’s skipper and 12th season on the coaching staff. Pitching Coach Cory Domel is also in his 5th season with the Patriots, while Hitting Coach Glen Barker enters his 2nd season. Volunteer Coach Fox Beyer is back for his 10th season with Somerset.

TOP 20: All season long, the Somerset Patriots will be unveiling their Top 20 players in franchise history. Three-year Somerset Patriots INF Corey Smith was just named the 19th greatest Somerset Patriot of all time. Follow along all season long to see who joins him.
