PLATINUM ANNIVERSARY: 2017 is Somerset’s 20th season as a franchise, an achievement that will be celebrated all season long. Having already won an Atlantic League-record six championships, the Patriots look looking to make it seven league titles in their 20th season of action.

WEST COAST DREAMIN’: Three Patriots have had their contracts purchased by MLB organizations in 2017. Left-handed pitchers Jeremy Bleich (4/29) & Logan Darnell 5/9) both had their contracts purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers & reported directly to Triple-A Oklahoma City. RHP Tyler Cloyd (5/10) had his contract purchased by the Seattle Mariners & reported to Triple-A Tacoma.

YO GONZA GONZA: Second-year Patriot Yovan Gonzalez has reached base safely in 13 of the 14 games he has played this season, including a team-high seven-game hit streak (4/28 – 5/6). Gonzalez is currently three plate appearances shy of qualifying among league-leaders in batting, but his .354 average would otherwise rank fourth the Atlantic League.

NOT JUST PATCH WORK: After starting both games of Saturday’s doubleheader, Justin Pacchioli has now scored a run in six-straight games, hit safely in five-straight and has an RBI in four of five. Over his last five starts, Pacchioli is 8-14 with 5 RBI, 6 runs & 6 SB.

SPEED DEMON(S): The Somerset Patriots stole a combined nine bases in Saturday’s doubleheader, including a season-high eight steals in game one. Additionally, Justin Pacchioli tied a season-high for the team with three stolen bases in game one (he finished with four steals on the day).

DRAMA IN JERSEY: Four of the first 10 home games for the Somerset Patriots this season have gone into extra innings. Additionally, another game (5/6 vs. York) was decided in the bottom of the ninth. Somerset has six wins in its last at-bat this year, including four walk-off wins at home.

KYLER ON FYLER: Fourth-year Patriots reliever Kyler Newby has gotten off to a lights-out start to begin the season, tossing 8.0 scoreless innings in his first seven appearances. Additionally, Newby has allowed only one hit this year, yielded just one walk and has a save. He is one of three pitchers on the team yet to allow an earned run (Vin Mazzaro, Ronnie Shaban).

WELCOME ABOARD: The Patriots have recently signed two Major Leaguers, RHP Vin Mazzaro and RHP Jerome Williams (and RHP Will Oliver), who come to Somerset with a combined 19 seasons of service in the big leagues.

TOP 20: All season long, the Somerset Patriots will be unveiling their Top 20 players in franchise history. Infielder David Vidal was just named the 17th greatest Patriot of all time. Follow along all season to find out who will join him!
