PLATINUM ANNIVERSARY: 2017 is Somerset’s 20th season as a franchise, an achievement that will be celebrated all season long. Having already won an Atlantic League-record six championships, the Patriots look looking to make it seven league titles in their 20th season of action.

CONGRATS ARE IN ORDER: Six Patriots have had their contracts purchased by MLB organizations in 2017. LHPs Jeremy Bleich (4/29) & Logan Darnell (5/9) both had their contracts purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers, RHPs Tyler Cloyd (5/10) & Ryan Kelly (5/17) had their contracts purchased by the Seattle Mariners, LHP Aaron Laffey (5/15) went to the Arizona Diamondbacks and RHP Vin Mazzaro (5/18) is heading to the Cincinnati Reds. All six reported directly to their respective Triple-A affiliates. There have been 12 total players in the league this year who’s contracts have been purchased this year by Major League organizations; six of whom from Somerset.

RICK TEASLERGAARD: After Rick Teasley’s shutout performance against the Bridgeport Bluefish Saturday night, the first-year Patriot now leads the Atlantic League in ERA (1.45 ERA) among qualified pitchers. The southpaw allowed one run over four relief appearances (12 IP) to begin the season, and now four earned runs over his last three appearances as a starter (19.0 IP).
