PROMOTION-A-PALOOZA: 2017 has featured three different Somerset Patriots earning a promotion to Major League clubs, tying a franchise record set in 2008: OF Chris Marrero (SFG), RHP Tyler Cloyd (SEA) and LHP Nik Turley (MIN). Marrero played in 37 games here in 2015, Turley appeared in 10 games (8 GS) in 2016 and Cloyd made three starts with the Patriots in 2017, earning his call-up just 27 days after his last appearance in Somerset. There have been 19 Patriots to reach the majors after playing in Somerset: most in the Atlantic League.

CONGRATS ARE IN ORDER: Nine Patriots have had their contracts purchased in 2017; seven by MLB organizations. LHPs Jeremy Bleich, Logan Darnell & Aaron Laffey along with RHPs Tyler Cloyd, Ryan Kelly, Vin Mazzaro and outfielder Jerry Sands had their contracts purchased earlier this season. INF Olmo Rosario (Bravos de Leon, Mexican League) and RHP Scott McGregor (Taiwan Professional Baseball) also had their contracts purchased earlier this season.

RICK TEASLERGAARD: LHP Rick Teasley currently ranks first among qualified Atlantic League pitchers in ERA (1.99). The southpaw went 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA over 12 innings as a reliever to start the year (four games), compared to a 4-1 record with a 2.31 ERA over 46.2 innings as a starter (seven games).

YO-YO HOT: Yovan Gonzalez has reached base safely in 33 of the 37 games in which he has played this year, including hits in 17 of his last 21. Over those 21 games, Gonzalez is 23-74 (.311) with a home run, seven runs and eight RBI. He is nine plate appearances (148, needs 157) short of qualifying among the league leaders in batting, but his .326 average would otherwise rank third. Gonzalez also has been responsible for four of the eight walk-off wins for Somerset this year.

Pacchioli is just two PA (155, needs 157) shy of qualifying among league leaders, but his .346 average would otherwise tie for first.

WALK IT OFF: Somerset has eight walk-off wins over its first 29 home games this season. Yovan Gonzalez has four of the eight, while Carlos Guzman (4/26), Tyler Bortnick (4/26), Scott Kelly (6/16) and Greg Golson (6/17) own the others.
