CONGRATS ARE IN ORDER: 15 Patriots have had their contracts purchased in 2017: 11 by MLB organizations. LHPs Jeremy Bleich, Logan Darnell (twice) & Aaron Laffey along w/ RHPs Tyler Cloyd, Ryan Kelly, Vin Mazzaro, Mitch Atkins, INF Tyler Bortnick & OFs Jerry Sands and Christian Marrero had theirs’ purchased this season. LHP Rick Teasley (Taiwan), INF Olmo Rosario (2X, Mexico) and RHP Scott McGregor (Taiwan) also had their contracts’ purchased earlier this season.

MERRY CLINCH-MAS: Having won the first half Liberty Division Championship, the Somerset Patriots have clinched a playoff berth and have now won an Atlantic League-record 18 half championships, including eight first-half championships.

COUNTDOWN TO 1,000: Carlos Guzman is currently just 17 hits away from 1,000 over his professional career (all levels). The second-year Patriot currently leads the team in hits (92), at-bats (357), games (94) and ranks 2nd in RBI (49).

ABOVE AVERAGE: Justin Pacchioli ranks T-fourth in the Atlantic League in steals (32), sixth in OBP (.384), eighth in runs (56) and 11th in batting (.291). Added, he has hit safely in 14 of 21 games and a run scored in 12 of his last 22.

KEEP THE GOOD TIMES ROLLIN’: Kyle Roller has reached base in 13 of his last 16 games (hits in 11-of-16). Over that stretch, Roller has six home runs and 19 RBI. Despite just 64 games this year, he ranks fifth in the league in home runs (18), 10th in RBI (56) and would lead the league in SLG (.609) if qualified.

IT’S A TRAPP: Justin Trapp has reached base in eight of 10 games, including hits in 7-of-10. Over this stretch, Trapp is 14-for-33 (.424) with five BB, five 2B, 11 RBI and eight runs. He has also reached base in 15 of his 20 starts.

OLMO BACK HOME: Olmo Rosario rejoined Somerset on 8/12 for his third stint with the team this year. He is 8-for-21 w/ a home run and six runs in his first six games back & has reached base in 12-of-13 games, dating back to his last stint.

ALL ANTOL-IN: RHP Dustin Antolin has yet to give up an earned run since joining the Patriots. The former Toronto Blue Jay has spanned 12.0 innings in 11 total appearances, striking out 18 batters compared to just one walk.

MAJOR LEAGUE BULLPEN: With the Keith Hessler signing, Somerset now has six relievers (Achter, Antolin, Below, Molleken and Newby) with service at the Major League level. Additionally, four of them (Achter, Antolin, Hessler and Molleken) appeared in the Majors during the 2016 season.

ANTONINI SHINES: LHP Mike Antonini has impressed over his first four starts in Somerset, yielding just one run over 17.0 IP (0.52 ERA). Additionally, he has allowed just one walk so far against 21 strikeouts, including a team-high 10 strikeouts in his last start (8/13). He has allowed just 10 base runners so far.
