KD TREY-ONE: After a rough outing last week against the Blue Crabs, Kyle Davies bounced back on Monday night to shut them out with six strong innings with just four hits and two walks. Davies is now 4-1 in his last five starts with a 0.94 ERA, amassing 28.2 IP, while allowing 23 hits and nine walks to go with 22 K
DEFENSE WINS ‘SHIPS: Somerset has not made an error in its last nine games spanning 83 innings. They boast an Atlantic League-best .980 fielding percentage.
MAD MAN MASSEY: IF Craig Massey is riding a 14-game hitting streak, the longest on the team this year. During the streak, he has eight multi-hit games, and is 25-for-63 (.397) with a home run, eight RBI, and 11 runs scored. Massey ranks first in the league in OBP (.435), and second in hitting (.359).
NUMBAH ONE: Mike Fransoso has reached base safely in 22 of the last 23 games. His .404 on-base percentage ranks fifth in the league, while his .306 average ranks 11th. He also currently owns a 26-game on-base streak on the road, the longest streak in the league this year.
DOIN’ IT ALL: Yovan Gonzalez is proving just how valuable he is to this team lately. The third-year Patriot is riding a seven-game hit streak over which he is 11-27 (.407) with four runs and 10 RBI. Gonzalez has yet to commit an error this year and Patriots’ pitchers have a combined 3.06 ERA when he is catching.
RAZOR RAMON: Ramon Flores has reached base in 13-straight games to begin his Somerset career. He is hitting .327 with three home runs, eight RBI, 10 runs, and a .930 OPS over this stretch with eight multi-hit games. Additionally, Flores is 12-for-28 (.429) with two home runs and five RBI in his last six games.
HOT ROD: Alfredo Rodriguez is showing no signs of slowing down lately. He is currently riding a six-game hit streak, during which he is 11-for-25 (.440) with a .533 OBP, one home run, eight RBI, six runs, and two stolen bases.
KUUUUBIAK: RHP David Kubiak is 3-0 with an ERA of 1.35. In the four starts, he has tossed 26.2 IP, with 22 hits, nine walks, and 31 K. Kubiak also owns a perfect 5-0 record with a 0.85 ERA, 38 K and seven walks in 31.1 IP on the road.
LIKE MIKE: LHP Mike Antonini has been automatic out of the bullpen this season. Since June 16, he has tossed 12 IP with just one earned run (0.75 ERA), with just six hits, one walk, and 14 strikeouts. His WHIP this year is only 0.73.
WELCOME TWO NEW ARMS: The Patriots announced on Tuesday the signing of two RHP: Bobby Blevins and Stephen Perakslis. Blevins is expected to start tonight, while Perakslis will start in game one of Wednesday’s doubleheader.
