1ST HALF LIBERTY DIVISION CHAMPIONS: Somerset have clinched their 7th half division title under manager Brett Jodie and their league-record 19th half championship in franchise history and is now guaranteed a playoff spot. Somerset has also been atop the Liberty Division for 100-straight days to begin the season.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Patriots have won 12 of 14 games at home to begin the second half. They have allowed more than two earrned runs just twice in the 13 games, and have yielded just 19 earned runs over 131 innings (1.31 ERA).
KUUUUBIAK: RHP David Kubiak is 4-0 with a 1.34 ERA, 42 strikeouts and just nine walks over 33.2 IP in his last five starts. The 6’7” righty leads the league in ERA (2.17), BAA (.223). WHIP (1.10) and ranks second in K (79). Kubiak also owns a 5-0 record with a 0.85 ERA, 38 K  and nine walks in 31.1 IP on the road.
MAD MAN MASSEY: IF Craig Massey saw his 16-game hit streak end Wednesday night (third longest in league), but is still on a 20-game on-base streak, tied for longest on the team this year. During the streak, he has nine multi-hit games, and is 32-for-84 (.381) with a home run, eight RBI, and 16 runs scored. Massey leads the league in OBP (.440) and ranks second in hitting (.356).
AGE JUST A NUMBER: The 40 year-old Endy Chavez has reached base in 12 of the last 13 games. He is 19-54 (.352) with five multi-hit games, five runs, six RBI and has raised his average from .232 to .261 during this stretch.
DOIN’ IT ALL: Yovan Gonzalez is proving just how valuable he is to this team lately. The third-year Patriot is riding a 12-game on-base streak, over which he is 14-42 (.333) with four runs and 10 RBI. Gonzalez has yet to commit an error this year and Patriots’ pitchers have a combined 2.95 ERA when he is catching.
PATCH EM UP: Justin Pacchioli has scored a run or recorded an RBI in 16 of his last 18 games. He is also a perfect 21-for-21 in stolen base attempts this year. His 21 steals rank fifth in the league. He has scored 25 runs in the last 33 games.
HOT ROD: Alfredo Rodriguez is currently on a 12-game hit streak, over which he is 18-for-44 (.409) with a home run, 13 runs, 16 RBI and a .556 OBP. The 2018 All-Star ranks fifth in the league in OBP (.401) and 9th in AVG (.308).
NATE THE GREAT: Infielder Nate Coronado smashed his first home run as a Patriot on 7/28. He has hit safely in eight of the 10 games he has played in, with one home run, six RBI, five runs scored, and four stolen bases.
LIKE MIKE: LHP Mike Antonini has tossed 15 IP with just one earned run (0.60 ERA), with just eight hits, two walks, and 16 strikeouts since 6/16 (14 games).
WHAT DOG DAYS?: The Somerset Patriots have been red hot in the hottest part of summer, reflected in their 20-5 record in the month of July.
ALWAYS ON: Patriots have three of the top five league leaders in On-Base % (Massey #1 with .440, Fransoso #2 with .410, Rodriguez #5 with .401).
