4:45 PM — Welcome to Hartford.  Somerset’s roster sure looks different here.

Outfielder Thomas Milone and infielders Hoy Park and Brandon Wagner are all headed to Scranton — the players were actually sent on their way yesterday, I’m told.  Still waiting on the official release of corresponding moves.

Milone, a Connecticut native, won’t get to make his homecoming series.  He was hitting .324 with three home runs and seven RBI, and has made a big impression in what’s his second year with the Yankees organization, but first actually getting to play games.

Just as this’ll be Milone’s first trip to 3A, the same can be said for Park and Wagner; Park was hitting .194 with one homer early this season, while Wagner was off to a bit of a better start, hitting at a .227 clip to start the year.

5:00 PM — The other foot just dropped with the rest of the transactions.  Well, more like other feet.  There’s plenty to take in here.

Both Jason Lopez and Diego Castillo were placed on the seven-day DL.

Up from Hudson Valley is Oliver Dunn, up from Tampa is Evan Alexander and up from extended spring is Aaron Palensky.

Next question for most of you…who are those guys?  Well…

Dunn is a second-year pro who was hitting .333 in his first nine games in High-A.  He’s played second and third base, plus left field already this year, and was the Yankees 11th rounder in 2019.

Alexander…19th rounder in 2016 by the Yankees.  Fifth-year pro outfielder who was hitting just .154 with the Tarpons this season.

Palensky is an undrafted outfielder who will be making his pro debut if he gets into game action here in Hartford.  He was a .316 career hitter at the NCAA level with Nebraska.
