4:40 PM — Somerset has posted their lineup…
4:25 PM — New Hampshire’s lineup is up…
4:15 PM — According to multiple reports out of New York, Zack Britton is set to begin his rehab assignment with Somerset on Saturday…
3:05 PM — I did have a request to add the newest info to the top instead of the bottom, so…let’s do that.
Catcher Max McDowell has been promoted to Triple-A Scranton after a brief stay with Somerset. McDowell, 27, appeared in five games with the Patriots, all on the road, and hit .133 with two RBI and four walks.
While there’s no official update yet, Donny Sands is evidently taking batting practice today after missing the last two games of the Hartford series following being hit by a pitch on his hand or wrist, and Jason Lopez is still eligible to be activated off of the DL.
Dermis Garcia, who was removed from Sunday’s game for a pinch hitter, is also currently in Somerset, so his exit was not due to a call-up.
2:30 PM — Two quick, small notes before we get to the fun stuff with player/coaching staff access later today…
Somerset won’t see two of New Hampshire’s better pitchers during this series, albeit for markedly different reasons. Former big leaguer Elvis Luciano was placed on the injured list after being removed from his previous start, and will not face the Patriots this week.
Far more notably, neither will one of Toronto’s top arms that isn’t Nate Pearson or Alek Manoah; Simeon Woods-Richardson was named to Team USA’s pre-Olympic qualifiers roster, and is also — presumably obviously — not available to face the Pats.
