The big league All-Star threw 15 of those 27 pitches for strikes, but allowed a long, two-run homer to cleanup hitter Nick Matera on a hanging curveball and exited down 2-0.
On the plus side, his sinker velocity improved to 92-93 — he touched 94 once — and his curveball was steady at 77-79.
In team-provided comments, Britton said: “I feel good physically. Arm is getting stronger. The next step is continuing to sharpen my stuff and command.”
