The Somerset Patriots have received catcher Chase Illig back from his promotion to Triple-A Scranton, for whom he did not appear in a game. The 24-year-old has played in four games this season — two each with Somerset and Hudson Valley — and has yet to record a hit.

Additionally, the Yankees have released Somerset outfielder Zack Zehner from his minor league contract. Zehner had played in four games for the Patriots since being sent back down from Scranton, going 3-for-12 with a double, two walks and six strikeouts.
