Following a 6-3 start with a 3.17 ERA, plus a whopping 103 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings, Somerset Patriots starter Glenn Otto has earned a promotion to Triple-A Scranton.
Otto technically began the year as the fifth starter for the Somerset Patriots, but quickly emerged as one of the fastest rising pitching prospects in the Yankees system thanks to an absurd 14.2 K/9. He recorded his 100th strikeout in his final Patriots start, which made him the only pitcher to record 100+ K’s at the Double-A level at the time.
Also, Somerset has received outfielder Brandon Lockridge from High-A Hudson Valley. The 24-year-old third-year pro was hitting .256 with three homers and 22 RBI in 32 games for the Renegades this season, and was the Yankees fifth-round pick out of Troy University in 2018.
